Our Commitment to Sustainable Workwear

We are committed to protecting our natural environment, and we are constantly trying to improve when it comes to environmentally sustainable practices. By producing workwear that will last longer than a season, we are cutting down on the waste generated by poor-quality, mass-produced clothing, reducing the number of items that end up in landfill.

 

Our Partnership with Trees that Count

Reducing waste isn’t the only way Westpeak is reducing our environmental footprint. Through our involvement with the Trees that Count initiative, we are helping to fund the planting of native trees across New Zealand. So far, we have funded the planting of 390 native trees and have planted 143 around our head office. Over the next 50 years, those native trees have the potential to sequester 232.12 tonnes of CO2. Our goal is to plant 500 native trees every year, and we are well on our way to achieving that target in 2021.

Partnering with Trees that Count and local wildlife organisation the Atarau Sanctuary, we are helping to protect the endangered Great Spotted Kiwi. Atarau Sanctuary is currently watching over four of these unique animals in the Kiwi Creche, with plans to release them into the wild once they reach maturity. The Westpeak Range

Our Westpeak range includes a variety of reliable, everyday staples for trade professionals. The Westpeak Breathable Day/Night Polo with long sleeves is made from 100% Polyester in 170gsm birds eye knitted fabric. Available in a variety of colours, no New Zealand tradie should be without a couple of these.

For a slightly smarter look, we have recently introduced the short-sleeved Westpeak Breathable Polo Shirt. Sleek, simple, and comfortable, the Breathable Polo comes in a choice of black or navy. A women’s fit is due to arrive in October.

For hardworking workwear, you can’t go past the Westpeak Heavy Duty Trouser with knee pad pocket. Made from 65% cotton and 35% polyester, these trousers feature two back pockets with velcro straps and a cargo pocket with cell phone and pen holders. Double knees allow for the easy insertion and removal of knee pads. The comfort, functionality, and durability of this item has made it our best-selling work trouser. The Westpeak range also includes thermal wear, socks, outerwear, and other high-quality workwear and accessories.
